Referring to the all-green Cayuga Mallards at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Pk.
described by Dennis Paulson & Al Jaramillo, during a May waterfowl I.D.
workshop at Lost Lagoon, one of them was at a fair distance out on the
Lagoon. Black at a distance in the bright sunlight, in the telescope the
bird was solidly electric midnight *purple*, not showing green until it was
much closer. The hit of the workshop. Very close to being the most
beautiful bird I've ever seen.
