I think I'd have to agree with Susan, looks like a crow to me. I believe
it's head is pointed almost directly at the camera, but since it is so
dark, it suggests a hawk in profile. Also check out the feet, which lack
nice long talons to kill things with. But it is a fun picture.

I have constructed a new web page showing some of the products of my
project and the Breeding Bird Atlas. 4 maps are available: Sage
Sparrow, WH Woodpecker, Lewis' Woodpecker, and Marbled Murrelet. Each
is a GIF file, 15-17K. These are draft maps, and will not be available
in printed form until they are reviewed by outside sources. Also be
aware that the pages are still under construction. The main page is:

http://salmo.cqs.washington.edu/~wagap/

The bird page is accessible from there, or you can go straight to it:

http://salmo.cqs.washington.edu/~wagap/atlas.html

Tune in again to see upcoming changes, also. We will eventually have
distribution maps available at this site for all breeding and wintering
species in Wasington (hopefully by December 1995). Have fun, and happy
surfing!
