About 18 years ago my whole family woke to the horrible ruckus of a turf
(um, air) war between crows and parrots in Arcadia, California (about 30 miles
NE of LA). Between the "caws" and, well everyone knows the screeching an
agitated parrot can make (I was too immature to identify them, but they were
mid-size green parrots, at least a dozen of them and several dozen crows),
we thought a war had broken out!
