I've had hawks come prey on the sparrows/finches/juncoes in my yard,
too. Last year, one caught something and stayed motionless near a hedge
for about a half hour. Also noticed the yard was quiet then, as Bill
Rick noted in his msg. The year before, a hawk lived in our alley. Or
at least hunted there frequently.
