On a somewhat tangential note, I've thought for some time now that the net
(via www nowadays) could be really useful for distributing up-to-date info
on birding localities, and in more detail than is practical in a printed
bird-finding guide. A good web page for a site could start with a species
text on where and how to find the birds. Maybe "micro-range maps" for
target species at a locality. Since you seem to be into maps and the web,
maybe you could put something like this together for Sagebrush Flat as an
example. Just a thought.

Funny you should ask about it, because I already *have* one for Sagebrush
Flats. I've moved it onto the birds page from its former spot, so now
it's easier to find. Check out Sagebrush Flats on the web:

http://salmo.cqs.washington.edu/~wagap/sageflats.html

You can get there from our home page, too:

http://salmo.cqs.washington.edu/~wagap/

click on 'bird distributions', and then on 'Sagebrush Flats'.

Includes a species list, 2 maps, directions, and a nice shot of it from
space.

Cheers!
