Sounds of spring in our yard also include song sparrows, chickadees,
bewick's wrens and robins singing new songs, but also the towhees have
started up! Since we just bought this property in July, I have not yet been
through a new spring with this diversity of birds. It seems each week now
we have had another bird start singing. Also noticeable is greater
woodpecker activity, fewer large flocks of pine siskins, and fewer varied
thrushes. House finches have been away for a while are now returning.
Still have plenty of ruby-crowned kinglets though and saw a Townsend's
Warbler about a week ago. Also have noticed the mosquitos - hope the
flycatchers return soon!!
