My two cents worth:
1. I saw a British book once on birds of prey, which included not only
the usuals (falcons, buzzards, etc. ) but also SHRIKES.

2. I have heard stories of fisherman catching large fish (salmon ?)
with Osprey (Eagle ?) skeletons attached, presumably having gotten
their talons locked in and drowned.

3. Sometimes, when pishing doesn't work form me I try a variation
pssst pssst pssst spsss-wsss-wsss
Trivia: "pished" is colloqial scottish for "drunk"
