Hello, this is Portland Audubon's Rare Bird Alert. This recording was
made Thursday, February 9th. If you have anything to add, call Harry

The Sauvie Island SLATY-BACKED GULL has not been seen all week, although other
members of the flock are still in the area.

The GYRFALCON is still along Finley Rd. at Finley refuge.

A HARRIS' SPARROW is wintering along the road at Pony Slough, in Coos Bay; and a
PALM WARBLER is wintering nearby. An OLDSQUAW was floating on Charleston
harbor JAN 30.

Among the over 6000 DUNLIN at Leadbetter Point, Willapa Bay, [Washington state]
FEB 8, were 4 MARBLED GODWITS, 10 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 20 WESTERN
SANDPIPERS, and 20 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS. Three BALD EAGLES and a
MERLIN were nearby.

A GREATER SCAUP, 4 EURASIAN WIGEON, and 2 hybrid WIGEON were on the
pellet plant marsh on Sauvie Island during the week.

An American [NORTHERN] CARDINAL was reported from Vancouver [, Washington
state. - probable escapee].

A pair of REDHEADS were on the ponds at Vernonia FEB 5.

A BOHEMIAN WAXING was among a small flock of CEDAR WAXWINGS in the
Monmouth area FEB 2.

A [NORTHERN] MOCKINGBIRD was at Baskett Slough refuge JAN 30, at the west
end of Colville Rd.
