I suggest that people who receive these appeals should distribute them as
widely as possible, on Tweeters, Birdchat, or anything else, to ensure
they reach everyone who might be inclined to write. This is one of the
strengths of the internet. It gives informed people of good will some
power against the polluters and despoilers. With a computer, it's easy to
compose a letter in a few minutes. You can save letters in a file and
change them a little to fit each situation. And I think the world's
ecosystems are worth a helluva lot of 32-cent or 50-cent stamps. If
someone isn't inclined to write, well, so be it. Of course, you're
ignoring the fact that each of these appeals comes with a curse on your
family unto the seventh generation if you ignore it, but that's your
business.
