Dave, just a note on the pesky model airplane strip.
We humans may be more annoyed by it than the birds. A few years ago, I
was sure I witnessed the establishment of a bald eagle nest within close
range of the field (at least close range to a bald eagle). I think the
eagles took over a redtailed hawk nest, so the eagles weren't unique in
tolerating the airfield.

I am curious whether there really is an established nest there, so if
anyone who can still get there wants to check, I can try to describe the
