greetings on the bird net from Tom Foote-- I thought I'd let you know about
"Bird Talk", airing Wednesdays 8-9 pm on KAOS-FM Oly's public radio. I
host and Michael Carmody co-hosts. It's a talk show with phone call-in
for listeners who want to jump in to the discussion for the week. Many
people you know have been guests, Bob Morse, Tom Schooley, Joe Buchanan,
Dave Jennings, etc..and we yak about habitat, birding, and environmental
concerns. Ken Jacobson was on last week to talk about bills he's twitchy
about as the new regime on captitol hill seems to be favorable to logging
and development interests..sigh-h-h.. In any case, I would appreciate any
ideas any of you may have about topics for discussion with resource
people to contact on the topic, and maybe some of you would like to make
the trek to Olympia some Wednesday eve and go on the air with me and
Michael. We have a segment from 8:40-9 pm we call "Out & About" and we
can set it up so some of you could call us and be on the air with your
info/concerns ertc. Russ Rogers did this last week and it was great. It
really adds a lot to the show to have knowledgeable people on the air by
phone as well as in the studio with us. Any notions you might have abut
this are greatly appreciated..thanks in advance. Oh, a slight problem
with no outside line that has long distance capabiltiy requires that
out of town callers do so on their nickle..and, we'd like to arrange that
in advance so you don't just call in and step on someone who is already
on the air. Since KAOS doesn't get out to the Seattle area, you can't,
unfortunately, hear the show, however, Michael and I will send you a tape
so you can hear yourself on the air if you wish. Sorry this is so long..
