EH>center. A RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was reported in St.
EH>Edwards Park north of Kirkland near the water tower Feb. 10.

I wondered where he took off to! He was a regular in my Broad-Leafed maples
for the past year until the hawk activity picked up in December (I live
just north of the park and the water tower is on the south side). I've only
seen his mate once though the male was often in my trees last June and
July.

St. Edwards State Park is a great place for birding and general wildlife
watching. It's near the northeast corner of Lake Washington, about a mile
south of the entrance to Idlewood Golf Club.

If you like bats you should spend an evening at the old seminary from late
May through August.

Take care,
Bruce
