One person has contacted me to report that the received only a header
without the text of the transcript. That person, howeer, is also on the
University of Idaho system. Did other people receive a text or only a
header?

This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, February 17, 1995.
.
On February 11 I observed the Moscow SNOWY OWL on the University
of Idaho cattle farms west of Moscow near the Washington border.
The bird was at the end of the Sixth Street extension, behind the
barn, just south of the sewage treatment plant. The bird is a
very gray juvenile. The bird was seen again on February 13 by
Claire Wiser. Look for the bird between Wal-Mart parking lot, the
Old Moscow-Pullman Road, and campus, especially west of the sewage
treatment plant.
.
Andy Stepniewski reports another SNOWY OWL from February 11 south
of Moses Lake. The bird was on the west side of Potato Hill Road
0.25 mile south of Baseline E. See Washington DeLorme p. 69, d-6.
.
Andy also observed a BURROWING OWL on February 11 at the George
exit along Interstate 90. The bird was on a post in the grassy
area along the eastbound on ramp. See Washington DeLorme p. 68, d-1.
.
February 11 Mike Denny reported 5 second-year GLAUCOUS GULLS and 1
near-adult GLAUCOUS GULL on the poop piles just north of Walluwa,
Washington, along US 12. See Washington DeLorme p. 40, c-1.
.
Mike also reports a MUTE SWAN and 2 BARN SWALLOWS at the display
pond at McNary National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters on February
11. Hopefully the arctic blast wasn't lethal to the swallows.
See Washington DeLorme p. 40, c-1.
.
Dan Svingen observed a NORTHERN GOSHAWK near the Rapid River Fish
Hatchery about 4 miles south of Riggins, Idaho last weekend. See
Idaho DeLorme p. 50, b-5.
.
On February 12, Andy Stepniewski observed SAY'S PHOEBES just below
Little Goose Dam in southwestern Whitman County. See Washington
DeLorme p. 55, d-8.
.
Andy also saw ROSY FINCHES along the cliffs in Devils Canyon
of Lower Monumental Dam on February 12. See Washington DeLorme p.
54, d-4.
.
Finally, I'm curious how many folks call the hotline. I'd
appreciate knowing if you make use of this service. Please leave
your name, or just your initials, and where you're calling from,
sometime during the month of February. If you leave a bird
sighting message for me, that will do. Thanks to the folks who
left messages last week, and thanks to the folks who will leave
them this week.
.
Good birding!
