Kevin,

Blue-winged and Cinnamon Teals are Washingtons only "summer" ducks. All
the other ducks are found in the state year round or as migrants and
winter visitors. Both Blue-winged and Cinnamon Teals arrive in the state
around mid April and leave by mid October. There are records of both of
these teal that extend into the winter. My impression is that a few
Cinnamon stay every winter. Neither one of these ducks are overly
abundant, with Blue-wing being less so than Cinnamon. To find either one
of these Teal, check out small fresh water ponds in the summer.
