Subject: Bald Eagles and Trees

I was just out doing some lunchtime birding (all 30 minutes of it) at Yarrow
Bay. There were a pair of Bald Eagles sitting in a flat-topped pine.

The question is: Do Bald Eagles prefer flat topped trees to sit in or are the
trees flat-topped because Bald Eagles are sitting in them ?

Hope you got that :-)

Not much else to report, duck and grebe numbers are dropping fast. Killdeer
are starting to display. Still some Common Mergansers, Canvasbacks and Lesser
Scaup hanging around. No warblers in the woods yet.
