Re Ravens in Cities; There's probably about three or four nesting pairs in
Greater Vancouver BC.

Hard to tell if the local birds we find in certain parts of, say, Stanley
Park every day are nesting there: no-one's ever found the nest, if any.
Same with the pair that hang around Pt. Grey, or the pair that patrol the
forehores of the southern Fraser Delta. We know a pair nested beneath the S
end of the Arthur Laing Bridge connecting S Vancouver with Richmond (the
Art Laing is a veritable bird condo: at various times it has nesting
Crested Mynas at its N end, a Cliff Swallow colony at the S end each
summer, and for one year at least harbored a Barn Owl family, as well as
the usual riffraff of House Sparrow, European Starling, and Rock Dove).

Ravens also nest on the North Shore Mountains just behind the city and some
of these birds likely come sloping down to cruise the harbor. Sometimes
they seem to do it for the express purpose of offering some aggro to any
eagle in the neighborhood.
