Mutant Ninja Chickdees are popular in Seattle. See WOSNEWS #33 (Oct. 94, page
7). The partial albino male which raised a family in my yard last summer
subsequently disappeared. And while noting the odd bird, the Maple Leaf
neighborhood's five Crimson-fronted Parakeets continue to survive the cold
weather. They can be heard/seen almost daily in the vicinity of 15th Ave. NE
and NE 92nd St. And while none have mutated yet (3 are offspring of the
original pair), what can we expected in 20 generations? At least they are
bigger and louder than starlings!
