Dennis,
Over Thanksgiving weekend we watched a RB Sapsucker for about
two hours. It worked on a favorite tree (Styrax) very close to the house,
and when the sap began to run the Black-throated Blue took advantage of
that. I got a pretty good video of the two together working around the
trunk. The following week the Sapsucker was also observed once more, but on
some alders. And the Black-throated Blue has completed two months, with
daily appearances at the hummingbird feeders.
