Shorebirds of the Pacific NW is high on my list of wish *books* if I can stop spending all
my retirement pence on birds trips and computer stuff.

I too failed to find the BT Curlew in the Nome area (three years ago), but it has showed
up in Homer on occasion, a slightly more accessible spot for Anchorage birders. And
Anchorage produces surprises every year. We've had a Common Grackle and a Harris'
Sparrow so far this winter. Never know what might turn up.
