If you go to Nisqually check with the FWS office to see if all the
trails are open, the office number is 753 9467. The longest (and
best) is closed off while the duck hunters are blasting away, to give
a quiet area for birds to hide out in. It's a diverse days birding
woods, overgrown fields, marsh and shoreline, but the birds of prey
are a speciality. Get out to the observation platform. There you can
watch Northern Harriers hunting across the reeds - really, really
neat.
