Today, when I announced that I wanted to go looking for birds during last recess, seven students from my regular group volunteered to go along. All of them were girls.
My group of regulars shows a strong representation of girls -80% +.
The exciting sighting of the day was a small falcon. I think it was a Merlin (does any other falcon have a call similar to the "bik" in the Golden Field Guide? Neither Peterson or Nat. Geo. describes a call).
