Subject: birding and eyesight

This is primarily directed at Kelly and Karen but the point is that you can be
legally blind and still be a good birder. My friend, Dave Engebretson at WWU,
hAs a degenerative eye condition but is teaching himself to bird by ear. We go
out on all kinds of trips together and as my hearing is fading ( I just lost
golden-crowned kinglet) he hears them and tells me where they are.So, don't
