Hello, this is Portland Audubon's Rare Bird Alert. This recording was
made Thursday, December 29th. If you have anything to add, call Harry

A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE coming to a feeder in Riverton was the best bird
on the Coquille [CBC]. One-hundred thirty-six species were found on
count day. On DEC 27 an EMPEROR GOOSE and a BONAPARTE'S GULL was in the
triangle at the south jetty of the Umpqua Bay. Twenty-five RED-NECKED
GREBES were in the nearby Umpqua River. An adult RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was
at [Dean Creek] elk meadows east of Reedsport that day.

The SAY'S PHOEBE at the Tillamook BLM offices continues to be seen. The
2 EMPEROR GEESE are still near the boat basin at Netarts Bay.

The RED-SHOULDERED HAWK remains at Ridgefield refuge, north of Vancouver
[, Washington]. A BRANT was in the Canada Geese flock on the meadows
near the pellet plant on Sauvie Island DEC 22. A RED-THROATED LOON and
9 WESTERN GREBES were on the Columbia River near the Portland airport
DEC 25. A bright RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD came to a southeast Portland feeder
DEC 24. On DEC 25 a female PINE GROSBEAK visited a feeder in the
Arlington Heights district of the West Hills, near the Portland
arboretum.

A FRANKLIN'S GULL was near the Forest Grove ponds DEC 26.

A RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER has been in the Charbonneau area, near
Wilsonville, since early December.

An adult VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW and 2 GOLDEN EAGLES were at Baskett Slough
refuge for the DEC 27 Dallas count. They found 91 species count day.
