FIELD ASSISTANT is needed to conduct forest bird surveys and collect
associated vegetation data at scattered locations in Douglas-fir
forests of Oregon and Washington. Applicants should be familiar with
identification of Northwest birds by sight and sound. Job entails early
hours, considerable driving, and living in motels during field season
(possibly some camping as well). Field season will extend from approximately
May 1 - July 10. Housing expenses paid and vehicles provided. Pay
$1000-1200/month based on experience, plus $15/day per diem. Experienced
Northwest birders who are interested in spending a lot of time in the field
during the height of the breeding season are encouraged to apply. Send
