Several have commented about the explosure growth in tweeters postings recently
. This is all great, but some people may not have the time to read them all, a
nd may have to bail out of tweeters as a result (me, for instance). One sugges
tion would be for people to be careful about how they enter the subject of each
posting, so that some discrimination would be possible by potential readers.
Some already do this, some are less careful, and perhaps some don't know how to
produce a header of their choosing. When replying to a posting on some system
s, the header is apparently preserved. This is fine so long as the subject of
the posting is the same as the header. If not, your posting may not be read by
people selecting against particular headers. This has been the case recently
where people reply to one subject but end up using an unrelated header. Perhap
s the list 'monitor' 'owner' 'overlord' or whomever could establish some guidel
ines on the headers which (I believe) should be accurate, and as detailed (lon
g) as general mail systems will allow to be viewed.
Hope this was intelligible, I'm in a hurry as usual. Bob O'Brien.
