Thanks to Teresa Michelsen for posting information about the digest mode.

Here's some more useful tips in managing your tweeters email.

Syntax: set tweeters mail <arg[s]>] and the arguments for mail can be:

ack [your message posting is sent back to you]

noack [your message is not sent back to you]

postpone [no messages delivered from tweeters to you]

digest [New messages are not sent to you as they arrive, but are
accumulated into digests that are periodically sent to you.]

If you want to change back from the digest mode to regular, not-acknowledged
mail send the message to:
listproc at u.washington.edu

set tweeters mail noack
=============================
Another useful argument is "postpone." If you are going to unable to access
your email for a period of time (days or weeks) instead of unsubcribing you
can temporarily stop your tweeters mail.

Send the following message to:
listproc at u.washington.edu

set tweeters mail postpone

No messages will be sent to you until you change the mode again. The mail you
missed while you had things set to "postpone" will not be sent to you.
(The term "postpone" is somewhat misleading in that regard.)

To reverse the argument set a different one. For example to:

listproc at u.washington.edu

set tweeters mail ack

This will start your mail up again.
===========================
You can get copies of the messages from the list archive. Commands to use
would be:

index tweeters [to see the archive list]

Then, for example:

get tweeters tweeters.log9501

[this will get you all tweeters messages posted in the year 95 and the
month 01 all in one large message]

I hope this helps,
