Yesterday, at about 4:30, I saw a large falcon land in a tree about 175
yards way. I put my scope on the bird and found it to be an adult
Peregrine Falcon, probably _F.p.anatum_. It had caught a junco (a mere
snack for a Peregrine i would think). I watched it for about 10 minutes
before it flew off. This is the second time that I have seen a Peregrine
sit on that same branch (of a tall Red Cedar) and pick apart a bird. The
first was and imm. earlier this fall. I occasionally see Peregrines fly
ovr head, but those are the only two that I have seen sitting.

Just incase anyone thinks that I have an amazing yard or anything, based
on this and the other sighting last friday of a Goshawk, I would like to
set the record straight. I have no yard whatever! I have a big picture
window with a limited view of the sound. Most of my view is obsured by a
big orntimental fir tree. Most of my sightng are either flybys or sitting
in the "big tree". I have a short list (50 species) with a few really good
birds on it. Below is my "big window" list. A "T" after the birds name
means that I have seen it in the "big tree". A "*" after the name are
birds that I think are unusual for a limited view in West Seattle.
