Actually, I was using "Iceland" Gull to mean white-primaried birds, which
have been reported from the Pacific Coast on several occasions. I don't really
believe that these birds are Iceland Gulls, the mystery is exactly what some
of these records are. Actually, even eastern white-primaried Iceland gulls
are probably _kumlieni_ and not _glaucoides_ as there are white-winged birds
that breed within the range that has been described for _kumlieni_. Maybe
I should have asked what the Washington bird looks like before having jumped
in. Does it have grey on the primaries or completely white primaries??
