Just to make sure I understand what people are "voting" for in
response to my note about one/two lists, I offer this distinction
between the alternatives as I meant them to be.

One list means: one list with all the chit-chat, bird observations, and
occasional complaints about "too busy" and "inappropriate."

Two lists means: one list for bird observations/discussions; and a separate
list for chit-chat.
