Last spring I found a bushtit building a nest in Lynnwood. When I went
back several days later there was another nest in the next tree (perhaps
ten feet away) and the first nest had been abandoned. Either the
original nest builder had been driven off or had built two nests. In
addition there was another active nest about 50 feet away. These birds
nest quite early (I believe it was March) so it is relatively easy to
find their nests since there are no leaves.
