As a french, I am quite offended you name _Passer domesticus_ "english sparrow"
while its accepted english name semms to be "house sparrow".
I am not sure if I am serious or not, but at times this "anglocentrism" is
quite unpleasant (consider also, e.g., the "Englich Channel" which doesn't
seem to me to be more english than french).

Also, to go on an earlier thread on orthography (site vs sight, ...), I
understand that the correct name for the above "kind-of-parrots" is parakeet,
not paraquet. Am I wrong ?

P.S. 1: I hope this message will not be considered offensive to anybody

P.S. 2: Do not hesitate to flame my poor english (3 months in NWP)

Cheers
