Last May I stumbled across a Bushtit nest at Nisqually. It was right next to the main trail (Nisqually River side) and suspendedabout eight feet above the ground.
The birds were coming and going on a regular basis and this activity led me to the nest. My initial impression of the nest was of a moldy, mossy gym sock.
Nearby, I discovered a pair of Cedar Waxwings, apparantly building a nest. Their choice of location was a Bigleaf Maple branch, about 10-12 feet directly above the trail.
