Yesterday I saw the Ross's Goose reported from the Kent Ponds. It was
with about 150 Canada Geese. I first saw it flying in from the fields to
the north of the ponds. I later found it on the big pond resting on the
water. This was a long overdue lifer for me (yahoo!). I was surpized at
how tiny this bird was. Even in flight it seemed smaller than a Snow
Goose was. The bill is also very tiny. When it was on the water it was
swimming along side a pair of Mallards, and it did not appear much bigger
than the ducks.

Happy MLK day,
