Hi Tweeters,

I haven't seen this posted so I'll take the liberty of doing so.

A male *FALCATED TEAL* has reappeared at Tofino BC, on the W side of
Vancouver Island. The bird is with Gadwall in Tofino Inlet, messing around
on the mudflats. This is likely the same bird as was present in April last
year.

To reach this area, once you're on Vancouver Island, take Highway 4 west to
the Tofino Highway, turn N and stay on it until you see the Dolphin Motel,
turn R onto Sharpe St. and go to the end. The bird is visible only at low
tide, and is in the tidal channels.

The consensus last year was that this was likely a wild bird.

For updates, call the Victoria Bird Alert at (604) 592-3381.
