Regarding the whip-wire technique, there was a 'human interest' article in Amer
ican Birds (I believe it was) about 5 years ago on the application of this tech
nique, complete with photos, etc. Very sad for the birds (&the gringo birders
up north), but all in a days work of making a living for the local residents.
