On a trip last year we did a bakery stop at Levenworth (they have out
Hummingbird feeders, opens at 9am) across the street from the Nat. Fish
Hatchery) The hatchery has wheelchair accessable bird blinds for viewing
parts of Icicle Creek and some quiet ponds, we "had" a Grey Catbird sing
for us about 5 minutes. Jerry Tangren told me about Camas Meadows and
just beyond that a gated Forest Service Road to the south, the area showes
up much better on the map 'Leavenworth Ranger District' than on the
Delorme p66 A4.

Oh yah, I suggest Hwy 2 then, south on Hwy 97, and back to Seattle on I-90
otherwise you can get stuck in traffic going west on Hwy 2, it's 2 lanes
and stoplights, which can be a drag if you've put in a long day birding.
