Doug Bonham <dbonham at dbonham.seanet.com> I am writing an Envirnomental Impact
Statement on a bridge replacement in Kelso, WA. Does anyone know birders or
have bird info from Kelso? The old steel Allen Street bridge over the Cowlitz
could be replaced by either a single 4-lane or a pair of 2-lane concrete
bridges. Do you think peregrines are interested in the 50 to 80 pigeons that
could disappear along with the steel work? or good riddance? Does that big
cottonwood snag have much value considering it's 100 feet from busy RR tracks,
Allen Street, and pedestrians? Heard any murrelets fly over Kelso? What
kinds of trees do you want planted after construction?
