Hi Tweets,

Dennis Paulson, Russell Rogers, and David Wright all recommend Howell and
Webb's Guide to the Birds of Mexico and Northern Central America, and I
will gratefully follow their advice and get one.

As to Steve Hallstrom's excellent suggestion that I consider making a
donation to the Belize Audubon Society - I am not really a book collector,
so I will consider leaving the book with Belize Audubon when I return. I
know how much difference even an old scope, field guide or pair of
binoculars can make to birders and researchers in poorer countries. I
could also carry a limited amount of other donations with me. If any
tweeters have old, unused, or outdated field guides to Mexico or even the
Eastern U.S., or old binocs that they would consider parting with, please
contact me directly.
