Doug:

I've lived in Longview for the past 20 years and have crossed that bridge
hundreds of times. Likewise I have eaten in a restaurant that overlooks
the river and that Cottonwood snag hundreds of times. Although I have
only been a beginning birder for about four years, I have never seen a
falcon of any kind in that vicinity nor have I seen any Murrelets of any
kind. Traffic crossing the bridge is very noisy. Impact on birds (except
the *pigeons*) would seem to be minimal. There are probably swallows
nesting under the bridge, but, as you know, there is another bridge
upstream a few hundred yards which provides plenty of replacement nesting
sites.
