I avoid posting messages of this kind to this kind of thread in that it
seems silly.
I am dumb founded by those who want to change the content of tweeters.
What would you change?
Michael Willson said (more or less) "every one goes crazy when someone
talks about changing what everyone disaproves of". This statement
contradicts its self.
If you want just bird sightings. Get rid of your internet account and
call the Birdbox. It gets a maximum of about 10 messages a week. No
limericks, no talk about conservation, on talk about taxonomy, on talk
about nothing but bird sightings. Besides, most all of the sightings
reported to Birdbox are posted on tweeters. All of the rarest ones are
posted to Tweeters (So, what do people complain about?). Also, the limerick
thread involved more non-regular posters than any other thread.
I also agree with Mike Price. Most all of the postings pertain to birds. Not
all of them pertain to my interest. I hit the "d" key on my keyboard and
those messages go away (as will all the other postings on this thread).
If the volume is to high for your internet access, get another server. If
live in a remote area and can't get another server, I fell bad for you,
but that can't be our (the larger portion of tweeters members) problem.
If the content of tweeters is not your cup of tea, log off, start
your own listserver. It is a free country.
