Saturday I went to Stampede pass with a non-birding friend (another
Railroad Buff).

One notable sighting was a Bobcat on the road. Not a bird I know but
unusual enough to note. Most interesting birds were three Turkey
Vultures beyond the gate west of Lester and a flock of Evening
Grossbeaks.

Does anyone here know where the roads are that lead to entrances of the
main railroad tunnel? Also is the Lester site at the location of the two
houses near the gate or further east? I found the US Forrest Service
Snoq/MtBakerNF map to be woefully inaccurate on several points in that area.
