Wonderful, Dale! At least a dime's worth.

Are you and other Tweets familiar with the British Broadcasting
Corporation's radio program, My Word, with Dennis Norden & Frank Muir? Each
weekly program featured a section late in the program in which each would
*improvise* a familiar phrase given at the beginning of the program such as
the above into a witty, sometimes brilliant shaggy dog story. The only
bird-related story I can find by them is based on a line from a hymn by
Mendelssohn, 'O, for the Wings, the Wings of a Dove'; it's only so-so by
their standards, and far too long to reproduce.

I don't know if My Word is still running, or if it's available via Public
Radio in the US. It shows up on the Canadian Broadcasting Corp from time to
time.
