This morning I saw two adult Red-necked Grebes swimming together
in front of my house on Eld Inlet, in southern Puget Sound. Their usual
time of arrival here is mid- to late August. I haven't checked my many
years of house bird records yet, but my guess would be that this is the
earliest they've been here in the fall. Are other people seeing similar
early arrivals?
