It would be nice if a spot were picked in advance - I could probably
convince the friend I'm staying with to join if there were beer
invovled. Actually, she and I were planning to go out for a beer
or two after the picnic so she could rendevous with us if some local
came up with the name of a place with character.

Does Seattle have non-smoking pubs?

Here in Portland, of course, we have the Bridgeport Brewpub, which
originally brewed Blue Heron Ale as a fundraiser for Portland Audubon.
They host a party every year to climax Great Blue Heron Week (the
Great Blue Heron is the City of Portland's official city bird. Does
Seattle have an official city bird, huh? If you want to know why
we do, there's an interesting story regarding urban conservation
behind the designation - some lessons to be learned, perhaps).

They also have Pintail Ale, and Coho something-or-other (the latter
got brewed up about the time Coho conservation became a visible issue).

So: I've got certain standards. Is Seattle up to the task?
