Hi Tweeters & OBOLers,

There's a report from Rory Patterson of a probable alternate-plumaged WOOD
SANDPIPER at the Pacific Rim National Park sewage ponds just S of Tofino BC
on the W coast of Vancouver Is. Adrian Dorst is on his way to attempt to
confirm the ID.

To reach the location, take Highway 4 west from Parksville on the E coast of
the Island, and turn right (north) at the Ucluelet--Tofino junction.
Continue N on hwy 4 until you reach a bridge about 1 mile past the W
Wickanninish Inn turnoff. The road to the ponds begins on the left side of
the highway on the far end of this bridge. Vehicular traffic is barred, so
park there and walk in the few hundred meters to the ponds. If you reach the
landfill, you've gone too far.

For details on this bird, you can call Rory this evening at (604) 725-3783.
