Thought the tweeters community would be interested to hear about a few local
successes, and one failure, from the Dash Point area.

This season we have observed in our yard in Federal Way, successful fledging of
Rufous Sided Towhees, Song Sparrows, Black-Capped and Chestnut- Backed
Chickadees, Oregon Juncos, Black-headed Grosbeaks, House Finches, Violet Green
Swallows, Bushtits, and Stellar's Jays. It has been a wonderful summer to watch
all this activity.

We were disheartened this morning however, to see the pair of Wilson's Warblers
frantically trying to keep up with the appetite of their Starling "chick". It
was very sad to think that this pair of beautiful birds was robbed of their
opportuniy by such a beastly creature. I have a mind to purchase a pellet gun
and take care of a few of these undesirable invaders next season, but then that
may not be in the true spirit of birding.
