I am currently reading a book called "Refuge", by Terry Tempest Williams. In it she details birding experiences in the Great Salt Lake area. In addition there is a lot of information on the natural history of the lake itself.
It probably wouldn't work as a birding guidebook to that area, but it is interesting reading. Have a great trip!
