I spent the summer of 1991 at the Rosario beach marine station (a
fantastic way to spend a summer!) and had several chances to follow pods
of orcas at close range. One day out with Mike Denny (who was drooling
as he counted the 50+ Marbled Murrelets off our port side) I watched a
male orca eat a Rhino. Auklet off the surface. Down went the bird and up
came a huge dorsal fin!
