In response to the concern some people expressed, I don't feel that anyone
said anything inappropriate in response to my original post, and no one
needs to apologize for any comment they made. My only
discomfort/embarrassment was a feeling that the whole discussion was
started by my inability to correctly identify a common raptor.

I learned a lot in the ensuing discussion. Thanks.
