I see that we are being fairly regionally biased for the west side in our
lists of Washington birds and bird places. I'd like to see some of the
east-siders step in for comment.

Washington birds and birding for me also includes a June morning on a
back road in the steppe/grasslands of Adams county with the most
evocative birds being the ubitquitous Western Meadowlarks and Savannah
Sparrows. A Grasshopper Sparrow singing from a fence post with the
tinkle (the song! Please, you guys...) of the Horned Lark in the
background makes for a pleasant accompaniment for the first cup of
morning coffee.
